Human body works in cyclical patterns. With the rising and setting of the sun, our body too become active and rest down. Just like, rising of the sun affects our body, seasons too affect it in the same manner. During summer season, our bodies needs to be cooled down and cooling is provided through a number of ways like eating watery fruits, vegetables, etc.
During winter season, our body starts repairing themselves for the next cycle. When we experience chills of winters, muscle aches or joint pain is likely to occur. It indicates that the body is actually degenerating, not regenerating. So, in order to get least affected by external environment, it is necessary to consider the needs of the body and eat such diet that can help us staying fit and fine.
Food Good To Eat In Winters
1.In winter, the body requires some body-building food items. Some of the best body building food that are low on calories and rich in essential nutrients are nuts like almonds, walnuts, avocados, pulses, etc.
2.Benefits provided by fruits and vegetables cannot be expressed in words. The fruits and vegetables are rich in major antioxidant vitamins which is essential for the body. Fruits and vegetables having yellow, purple, orange, blue, red hues are rich in vitamin E, vitamin C and beta-carotene. Bright coloured vegetables, fruits and berries are rich in anti-oxidants.
3.Strengthen the immunity system of the body by taking herbs and spices like garlic, turmeric, amla, ginger, etc. The natural spices aid in boosting the immunity system of the body and keep our body warm.
4.In winters, body need more energy to maintain an equilibrium between internal and external temperature of the body. This extra energy can be provided to body in the form of dates, cranberries, apricots, raisins, etc.
5.Last but not the least, stand in the sunshine for a few minutes on a daily basis to soak sun light and make your body rich in vitamin D.
Thus, whole cycle of balancing body temperature and boosting immunity system of the body requires energy. And needless to say, this energy comes from food we consume. Rather than consuming right food items, if we consume food items like sweets, fried food, coffee, etc. they take considerable length of time to digest. Hence, most of the body's energy spend in digesting the food. Thus, enjoy more bright coloured spices, herbs, nuts, vegetables and fruits to keep winter chills, aches and pain at bay
