Extraordinary Achievement of An Ordinary Person

Since my childhood, the story of humanity never ceases to astonish me. Whenever I feel low or feel why life is so harsh on me, I look at people like Narayan Krishnan. The story of this “Everyday Hero” gives me inspiration to move forward in the life and face challenges of the world.

Narayan Krishnan, a bright, young and award winning chef has chosen the path of compassion and sacrifice over wealth, luxury and fame. In 2002, success was waiting for him, but destiny had sketched another roadmap for him. He left the enviable position of chef offered in one of the 5 star hotels of Switzerland to feed people of his own country.

Before moving to Switzerland, he planned to visit his family residing in India. On his trip to India, Krishnan explored such things that completely changed his heart.

While visiting temples of Madurai, he witnessed that an old man was eating his own waste as a food. This painful sight changed the heart of the young man and he started feeding him. His own act of kindness made him realize that his ultimate job is to feed poor and destitute people of his own country. He acknowledge the poor and needy people as “His own people”. Within a time span of a week, he cancelled his plan to move abroad and came back to his own home country. From there, Krishnan's journey of sacrifice has started.

Within a year' s time, Krsihnan founded and named his trust as “Akshaya Trust”. The name Akshaya symbolizes imperishable or undecaying. He believes that the human compassion of feeding his own people is Akshaya i.e. imperishable. Life was never like a bed of roses for him. He has to face several challenges at the beginning. He began his day at 4 am. After purchasing the fresh vegetables and other required ingredients from the local market, he has cooked meal and hand feed to incapicated and handicapped people. The food cooked by him was eaten by nearly 400 people who live in the nook, crannies and under bridges near the temples. Till date also, he follows the same schedule. On a daily basis, he covers a distance of 125 kms in his donated van. Factors like limited resources, poor weather conditions, sickness, etc. could not able to stop him as he is determine to reach at his destination by all means.

He revealed that “the panic and suffering of human being was the driving force for him and his teammates. The enjoyment he obtained while cooking the food acts like fuel, which provides him energy. In fact, he is very determine to save his people life”. In simple words, it can be summarized as numerous difficulties and unending endeavor of helping the people make him contented. He has no qualms of leaving the path of luxury and wealth. As he says blissfully “Now, I am feeling happy and comfortable. I have a passion and I enjoy my work. I want to live with my people”.

So, hats off to the noble spirit of the young man.

Presently, popularity of Facebook is at acme. People of all age group spend significant hours on the site on a daily basis. Though, it is referred as a social networking site, heavy dependence of people on it had made it as a private networking site. Tech-savvy users use it as a platform to find their old friends, playing games, sharing their day to activities with friends, scheduling events-the list is endless. It would not be wrong to say that with every passing day, people are becoming more and more addictive to it. You may think that why the word addiction is used. So, take a look at the below stated following facts, which will surely going to testify the usage of word addiction.
Unknown yet True Facts

Be it mobile, i-pod, television or computer. Electronic gadgets are becoming substitute of books, their friends and family members as well. KBC 4 is Back with Bang

The first episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 4 was aired on Sony Entertainment television on 11 October'2010. The day was momentous not only for the Sony Entertainment Television but for the entire Bachchan family and nation also. Mr. Bachchan has celebrated his 68th birthday on that very day. The God has blessed only a few people in the world with massive success and elan and Amitabh Bachchan is one of them. He has been associated with Kaun Banega Crorepati since last 10 years. The first two session of the show was hosted by him only. However, due to poor health the third session was hosted by Shah Rukh Khan.
In order to create the interest of customers, some noticeable changes have been introduced in the KBC4. For instance, prize money has been raised from 1 crore to 5 crore, introduction of a new “Double Dip” lifeline and many more. However, producers have not taken the risk of changing his host. Reason being, even the they are aware of the fact that the Mr. Bachchan's charismatic way of hosting the show had made the show so much popular in audience of all age group.
It is not wrong to say that had been the show hosted by somebody else, it would not have gained such popularity and recognition. Indubitably, the prize money offered in the show is a big factor to attract the attention of Indian audience, but Bachchan's unmatchable hosting style and baritone voice has helped KBC to reach to new heights of success.
So, my best wishes are always with iconic star Mr. Amitabh Bachchan and Kaun Banega Crorepati 4....Let the show rocks....

Eye care- Our Safety Is In Our Hands

Every year, second Thursday of the month of October is regarded as World Sight Day. The unanimous motive of the day is to create awareness regarding visual impairment and blindness and restore sight, whenever and wherever possible. Although, the global target is to reduce blindness in all countries, increasing longevity and non communicable chronic disease making the task as a distant dream. Before discussing further, let me throw some light on some of the EYE opening facts:

EYE-OPENING FACTS

  • Almost 314 million people are categorized as visually impaired and out of them 45 million people are blind globally.
  • The older age group people get commonly affected from visual impairment and as compared to males, females of every age group are more prone towards it.
  • 87% of visually impaired world's population resides in developing countries.

Although, myriad of surgical techniques have been introduced in the market, number of affected people from vision loss is rising with every passing day. So, it is our responsibility without waiting further, we should start following preventive measure as early as possible. In India, People have the tendency of not visiting to doctor unless and until they get affected from any disease. But, now, the time has come when we have to reverse the trend. Enlisted below are some of the preventive measures which help in minimizing vision problems and restrict our visit to ophthalmologist.

PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE

  • Go for regular eye check-ups after the age of 18 years in every six months.
  • Make it a routine to splash plenty of water on the eyes in the morning and before going to sleep.
  • Do simple eye exercise daily for 5 minutes. Move your eyeballs upward and downward, right and left, clockwise and anticlockwise direction. Repeat the process ten times.
  • Avoid working for long hours in front of computer. If it is inevitable, take frequent small breaks or wear anti-glare glasses.
  • Always wear sunglasses before stepping out in the sun.
  • Increase the intake of green vegetables, almonds, carrots, spinach, etc. These vegetables help in maintaining good vision.

Last but not the least, take 7-8 hours of good night sleep regardless of hectic working schedule.

I am sure if you follow these measures, you are able to see this beautiful world without any vision problem till your last breath.
